Marina Bay Sands

Marina Bay Sands Singapore recently appointed Creative Lighting Asia’s Singapore office to update the lighting on the lower roofs. The original lighting design utilised fluorescent fixtures. However the client recognised that LED fixtures would provide a more efficient and flexible solution.

CLA selected Color Kinetics iColor LMX, providing the client with the option of creating subtle white colours for their standard evening look, or more dynamic colour looks for use on festive occasions.

Ptarmigan was appointed to design and supply a networked control system that spanned 3 and synchronised the three buildings and controlled over 6km of flex.

Universal Studios Singapore: Sesame Street Space Chase

The opening of Universal Studios Singapore's latest ride in March 2013 sees Ptarmigan continuing their relationship with the team at Resorts World.

This new dark ride follows Elmo and Grover on a chase across the universe in an attempt to prevent Macaroni the Merciless from stealing all the world's spaghetti.

MGM Macau Grande Praca

Inspired by old-world European town centres and drawing together architectural influences from Lisbon and old Macau, the Grande Praca is at the heart of MGM Macau.

In 2012 MGM appointed lighting designers, First Circle Design, to upgrade the lighting for this elegant space with a brief to simplify the existing systems and to ensure that the new lighting was integrated into the architecture in a more sympathetic manner.

Ptarmigan was appointed to work with electrical contractor Chevalier, supplying and integrating the lighting control system.

Universal Studios Singapore® Transformers The Ride: The Ultimate 3D Battle

Universal Studios selected their Singapore for the world premier of Transformers The Ride.

The thrill ride seamlessly draws together 3D video and scenic elements to create an exciting hyper realistic experience. Central to integrating live and virtual elements is the lighting designed and created by Tim Linamen of Point of Light. Tim worked very closely with the video and scenic designers to ensure that guests can not see were the two worlds meet.

Ptarmigan’s Singapore office were lighting integrators engineering, supplying and installing the show lighting system.

City of Dreams Macau, Dancing Water Celebrates Its First Birthday

The “Dancing Waterat City of Dreams Macau celebrates its one year anniversary.


On the 16th September
2011 the Dancing Water and Maestro Yundi presented a special first year anniversary show. Since opening in 2010, there have been more than 380 performances to over 700,000 spectators.


Ptarmigan was lighting systems designer for the
Dancing Water Theatre.

Universal Studios Singapore® Journey to Madagascar: A Crate Adventure

Fast on the heels of Galaxy Macau™opening, Journey to Madagascar: A Crate Adventureopens at Universal Studios Singapore®.


Inspired by the infamous Dreamworks film, the water ride joins the famous escapees from New York Zoo as they become ship wrecked on the beach at Madagascar.


Ptarmigan worked in partnership with White Light to supply the lighting hardware and controls in 2009 for the show lighting
designed by Jeremy Windle of Lighting Design Alliance. In 2011 after a redesign of sections of the ride, Ptarmigan were appointed as integrators to complete the installation and to implement LDA's changes.

Galaxy Macau™

15th May 2011 saw the opening of Galaxy Macau™, the latest new casino to open on the Cotai Strip in Macao.


The multi billion dollar resort includes three hotels, 450 gaming tables, 1500 slot machines as well as a vast 4,000m2 wave pool and an artificial beach.


Ptarmigan has worked across the property, creating one of Asia's largest laser and light shows. The shows, which run every half hour each evening, were commissioned by Galaxy Macau™ to celebrate and attract visitors to the sparkling new casino.


On the inside of the casino, Jeremy Railton's Entertainment Design Corporation designed and produced two features, the Fortune Diamond and the Wishing Crystals. Ptarmigan was appointed to provide lighting integration services.
